2/18/22 - Group Project Idea Brainstorm

Playlist organizer, Song to image matcher, Fire damage image processing, Ocean level image processing, Accent Identification,

Music genre classification, Instrument Tuner, Audio Compression, Facial recognition, Hand gesture recognition, Wordle,

Word extractor from picture, Where’s waldo finder, Speech identification, Speech to text, Page Scanner App, Crossword Solver,

NFT Identifier, Instrument recognizer, Vocal range classifier, Landmark identification, Image merging, Audio distorting.

2/25/22 - Submit Project Brainstorm

Decided on two possible project ideas (Wordle Helper and Fire Analysis) with a minimal outline and planning. Received feedback and steps for further research. Feedback can be found here:

3/11/22 - Team Meeting

Discussed our two ideas at length and talked about which ones we thought were most fun, most challenging, and most creative (thought about which boxes we could cross off for the final grading). We decided to choose the Wordle Helper idea as we thought it would be very applicable to our current lives and the difficulty of the final product would be adjustable based on what we found could be completed before the deadline. We then as discussed our brainstorm feedback and discussed minimum and stretch goals for the project going forward that addressed each critique. We were able to have our minimum analysis and UI established as what we needed to have to succeed. Our stretch goals contained things like implementing our UI in our website and adjusting our suggestions for edge Wordle cases.

3/22/22 - Submit Project Topic Finalized

We created a document responding to all the critiques and clarifying questions in our Project Brainstorm Feedback. We submitted the Wordle Helper idea as our official final project choice. We talked about our planned UI interfacing, our choice of word banks, our planned methods for analysis, and our thoughts on the supplied processing sources. The submitted assignment document can be found here:

3/25/22 - Team Meeting

We met and went over what had been completed so far and what we had moving forwards toward our first progress report. We had a completed the coding format for the word analysis and had a good start on two of the word processing methods. Our UI was coming along and was able to print out the top started guesses. We had the website mostly laid out and had started filing in some pages with description of analysis methods and some background. We came up with tasks for each member including things like finishing the UI, working on an in website best guess checker, completing two more word processing methods, formatting the website towards a final design, and then if time allowed, moving into some of our stretch goals. Many of these tasks were aimed towards getting us in a good place for progress report 1.

4/1/22 - Team Meeting

We again began by going over what had been accomplished in the last week. We managed to get a good start on the test you best started word widget but needed to implement the actual search functionality and word and score lists in order to display the rank and score of a user input. We had three forms of word analysis (Cosine, Position + Cosine, COPOD) and a fully running UI using two of those methods. The UI was tested with the daily wordle and a repeatable wordle and was proving success in most cases. There were a few cases, such as having all the letters right except one, where the analysis would use a strategy that was not optimal for winning that day. This was something we knew would happen and had it addressed in our stretch goals. We next discussed what we wanted to complete moving forward, focusing our efforts on completing the tasks for progress report 1. We wanted the website to have a nice front page and to be easily maneuvered through. We also wanted to have the test your best starter word fully completed by the report and on the website. Starting to transfer our ideas and descriptions onto the actual website from our documents was also a top priority. We also wanted to get a start on a fourth/fifth processing technique and getting the UI on the website which are further stretch goals towards the final project completion.

4/5/22 - Submit Project Progress Report

We turned in our website as our completed progress report as well as including a page outlining the steps we took to complete it. The first step of this assignment was making sure the website was formatted properly. We needed a nice first landing page to overview and layout the project and then designated pages for background and final findings. Next we needed to add at least three plots corresponding to our data analysis. Lastly, we needed to write about what we had completed so far, what our plan was moving forward, and one thing everyone had learned along the way. The specific response document to this assignment can be found here:

4/7/22 - Submit Project Peer Review

We were each assigned 3 project team's websites to review and provide feedback on any aspect of their project we thought needed work. Our project was also assigned to multiple people in the class as well and we were able to see their feedback to us on how we were doing. This feedback can be found here:

4/8/22 - Team Meeting

We started off the meeting by going over the peer review feedback we had been given. We made a list of things we wanted to fix and adjust based on that feedback. Adding to the list we looked at what we wanted to still make our goal to implement by the end of the project. This list would provide us with the tasks we would work on in the coming weeks. Lastly we talked about the upcoming presentation and how we would split that up. We discussed which topics we needed to cover as well as how we would split up the presenting time.

4/12/22 - Class Project Presentation

We gave a 12 min presentation outline the work we had completed so far which included background, analysis overview, and our working UI demos. An outline of the presentation topics can be found here:

4/26/22 - Team Meeting

As we are nearing the completion of our project and the final turn in date our team met to go over the exact final project specs to make sure we fit all the requirements. we made a list of the small requirements we still needed to fill as well as any things we ourselves wanted to finish up to round out the website overall. This list of things would serve as the final list of completable tasks that are due the next day.

4/27/22 - Final Project Submission

A link to this website was submitted as our final project submission. This project has been officially completed!
